This course is ideal for those responsible for workplaces and other buildings. Learn how to reduce fire risk by taking responsibility for and adopting the right behaviours and procedures to minimise risk.
Employers (and/or building owners or occupiers) must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and keep it current. The approach is similar to health and safety risk assessments. They can be carried out either as part of an overall risk assessment or as a separate document and training process.
Preventing fires in the workplace is aided by creating a risk assessment, which will identify what could cause a fire to start, i.e. sources of ignition (heat or sparks) and substances that burn, and the people who may be at risk.
Course Objectives
• Become compliant with Health and Safety legislation
• Help identify the hazards associated with and possible actions to control fire risks. Even if they cannot be avoided, there are ways to reduce and manage the risks.
• Awareness of common causes of fire
• Learn to risk assess hazards associated with causes of fire in the workplace
• Learn to put in place reasonably practicable measures to mitigate the risks
• Considerations on how to protect people if there is a fire.

This is an online event. You will be required to register with Zoom before you can join. This is a free and simple process but does take a few minutes. Please do this at your convenience before the day of the event.
