How do I know if I am eligible for Funded Support?
This support is only for third/voluntary sector organisations operating in Glasgow City. You must apply for approval by clicking “Register for Funded Support.” To proceed, please fill in your organisation name and click Sign Up. Then go to your cart and proceed to checkout, where you will be asked to complete the short eligibility application.

What happens when I apply?
When you create an account to access funded support in Glasgow this will come to our sector development team at sectordev@gcvs.org.uk. We will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible with approval, or to request further information on the details you provide. We aim to approve your account within 3 working days – sooner if we can.

Why do I need to wait for approval?
We’re funded to support eligible organisations in Glasgow, as discussed here. To confirm your eligibility, your application needs to be checked by a member of our team.

What details do I need to provide?
The first person creating an account for an organisation ‘owns’ the account and can invite other team members to join. We recommend using your group mailbox, such as an ‘info@’ email, so access is shared with everyone using that mailbox.

Who is eligible for Membership?
Membership is only available to voluntary sector organisations operating in the Glasgow City Region.
We define a voluntary sector organisation as a community group, voluntary organisation, charity or social enterprise that:
– Has a positive social purpose. 
– Is governed by a committee or Board, the majority of whom are voluntary.
– Is not run for private gain and reinvests any surpluses in its purposes. 
– Is not part of, or controlled by, the public sector, a political party or a trade union.

How much is membership?
Membership is free for organisations with no paid employees, while larger organisations contribute in a tiered structure. We can provide a price online once you tell us how many paid staff your organisation has.

What standards will I be asked to meet to apply for membership?
Treating staff, volunteers and service users fairly and kindly.
Following good practice in governance and management.
Working to embed a human rights and equality-led approach.
Taking action to minimise any negative environmental impact.
Seeking to collaborate with others for the benefit of the city.

How much does Membership Plus cost?
Membership Plus includes payroll and advice services, which means looking at the size and structure of your individual organisation and its needs to see how much you would save. It is charged quarterly (every three months) at £315 plus £40 per additional employee. Membership Plus is also VAT exempt, which we consider important, as many of our members cannot reclaim or fully reclaim VAT. Do you offer any free advice on HR or Health & Safety?
Yes. If you are a voluntary sector organisation operating in Glasgow, we can offer limited support without a subscription. Please contact the team at sectordev@gcvs.org.uk to discuss your query.

I’m a member. Can I get a discount on advice services?

How much does it cost to outsource Payroll with GCVS?
Our experienced team will take you through the services we provide and can advise you on the most affordable options for you.

How long does it take to set up?
Usually, it will take up to 6 weeks to get your payroll fully set up. This includes working with you to gather all the necessary details and connecting with HMRC and other relevant bodies.

Are there discounts on Payroll if I’m using other GCVS services?
