GCVS, 348 Argyle Street, Glasgow G2 8LX
An interactive workshop designed to help you explore frameworks for planning engagement and apply them to your work. We will look at approaches to ensure that engagement activities meet the National Standards for Community Engagement, and build on this using Service Design approaches to help us navigate more complex cases.
A presentation of the basic concepts of community engagement, or a case for engaging with your community. It is not a lecture-style session, and you will be required to participate.
In the context of this session, “community engagement” is used to refer to opportunities to involve those with lived experience in decision making, to inform our activities and services. The lived experience can be that of existing service users, staff, volunteers, or the wider community. This session is not about awareness raising or increasing attendance at events.
To participate in this session, please come prepared with some ideas or examples of where you are looking to carry out engagement in your work.
This training session will start at 10am and finish at 1pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Venue: GCVS, 348 Argyle Street, Glasgow G2 8LX
“I liked being in person, very welcoming and open staff gave really good feedback and helpful to chat with them and other participants”
“Very good slides! Really broke down things clearly and the chatting through them was engaging and useful.”
This session will be helpful for anyone who is involved in planning or delivering community engagement activities, or is interested in how to embed lived experience in their decision making.
