In May 2026, Glasgow Child Protection Committee published the Family C Learning Review. The review identified a range of learning points for services working with children, young people and families, and highlighted opportunities to strengthen both single-agency and multi-agency practice.

This session will provide a high-level overview of the learning themes and the ongoing work being undertaken across services to support continuous improvement.

What to expect

This Children & Families Network session will provide attendees with a high-level overview of the Family C Learning Review and the key learning themes emerging from the report.

Attendees can expect:

  • A summary of the review and its purpose.
  • An overview of key learning themes relevant to children and families services.
  • Information on improvement activity and ongoing developments across the sector.
  • Opportunities for reflection and discussion on how learning can support practice.

By attending, participants will:

  • Increase their awareness of the learning identified within the review.
  • Understand current improvement actions and developments.
  • Consider how the learning may inform their own organisation and practice.
  • Connect with colleagues across the Children & Families Network.

Preparation required:
No preparation is required. Participants may wish to read the publicly available Family C Learning Review report in advance.

Outcome of the event:
The session will support shared understanding across the network and contribute to ongoing learning and improvement for organisations working with children, young people and families.

  • Third sector organisations working with children, young people and families.
  • Children & Families Network members.
  • Staff involved in family support, safeguarding, wellbeing, education or community services.
