Team’s and Manager’s Wellbeing

Managing change

I think most of us will agree one constant that is with us is change! It maybe changes in funding, community need, the size and membership of the team, Board, networks we are members of. It maybe new legislation or guidelines we need to follow, the list goes on.

Some people embrace change, some even actively pursue it. However, other people find change unsettling, even when it may be a change for the better.

I was asked to present at a conference recently around the safety of people receiving services, staff wellbeing and change. For all this was aimed at colleagues working in a statutory setting, there are perhaps ideas there which may be helpful for everyone so I ave included a link to the slides below. I also created a wee mind map same included as the image for this piece. Happy to share so please feel free to download. I have not put my name or COPE’s logo on it as I didn’t want other text or images distracting from the messages. Simple I know, but its amazing how when we make things simpler to do the world becomes less complicated!

I mention redundancy and suggest you seek appropriate support for this GCVS HR team are one place to go for more information https://gcvs.org.uk/support/support-services/hr-hands/. This link is more around reducing the stress associated with a post being considered for redundancy https://www.copescotland.com/resources/managing-the-stress-of-redundancy and is not a replacement for professional advice

While this piece may not be offering direct ideas on selfcare and wellbeing I hope it is helpful for managing some of the workplaces challenges which can lead to stress at work.

Be kind to yourself and each other, we are all doing our best in what remains strange and challenging times
