Trustee Secretary (Volunteer)
Help shape a women’s charity making a real difference in Glasgow.
Common Thread Vision (CTV) supports older ethnic minority women in Pollokshields to stay connected, independent and well through creative, social and wellbeing activities, helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation.
We are looking for a Trustee Secretary to join our Board and support the smooth running and governance of the charity.
The Role
- Attend around 8 Board meetings per year, mainly online with some in person.
- Take clear and accurate minutes and maintain Board records.
- Support meeting arrangements, actions and basic administration.
- Work closely with the Chair and other Trustees.
- Volunteer mainly from your own home.
- Help at approximately one community event per year.
- We are particularly looking for someone based in Pollokshields or surrounding areas for occasional in-person meetings and paper-based tasks.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to take clear and accurate minutes.
- Reliability, confidentiality and discretion.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Secretary, Trustee, committee member or administrator.
- Experience of maintaining records and supporting meetings.
- An understanding of charity governance.

Please note: This role supports a women’s wellbeing group and includes helping at approximately one community event per year. To maintain a safe, comfortable and culturally appropriate environment for our members, we are currently seeking a female volunteer for this position.
