Finn’s Place is a thriving community wellbeing hub in Battlefield in the Southside of Glasgow.

We are now looking for new Trustees to join our Board and help guide Finn’s Place into its next chapter.

About Finn’s Place

Finn’s Place was born out of the generosity of Langside Parish Church, who opened their halls to the wider community in 2014. What began as a bold act of sharing space has grown into a thriving wellbeing hub.

Today, Finn’s Place is an independent charity with its own trustees, staff, and finances. We remain in partnership with the church sharing a building and a spirit of hospitality, while developing broader partnerships with community groups and organisations such as Battlefield Community Project.

Our vision is simple: that everyone should have a place they feel welcome and belong and be able to access a range of activities and opportunities that support their own unique pathway to wellbeing.

Our mission is to be one of these places.

We are open to all, regardless of background or belief and are currently open Monday – Thursday 9.30 – 9pm & Fridays 9.30 – 1pm.

What you’ll do as a Finn’s Place Trustee:

• Provide oversight and guidance to ensure we thrive as a charity.

• Support the Director and staff team through your allyship, wisdom and constructive challenge.

• Be an ambassador — build and nurture relationships that will help support our vision & mission, connecting Finn’s Place with people, networks, and opportunities.

• Bring your experience, skills, and perspective to strengthen our work – we don’t know what we don’t know and together we are all so much stronger.

• Occasionally lend a practical hand at events or in times of need (we’re a small but mighty team!).

It would be great if you have previous board experience but that’s not essential — what matters most is a genuine connection with our mission, curiosity to learn, and willingness to contribute.

Who We’re Looking For

We’d especially welcome people with experience or interest in:

• Community & volunteer development

• Finance or fundraising

• HR, policy, or governance

• Media & marketing

• Health & safety / building maintenance

• Climate action & net zero

• Lived and/or learned experience of the barriers our community faces (e.g. disability, ethnic minority, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+).

We are committed to equity and diversity and want our board to better reflect the community we serve.

The Commitment

• We currently have monthly board meetings (approx. 2 hours, usually evenings)

• An annual away day

• Optional sub-group or ambassadorial work

• A 3-month induction with a buddy trustee to help you settle in
