Let’s Reimagine Social Care – OWR Series focuses on Feeley

There is just one week to go until GCVS launches the second instalment of our successful ‘Our World Reimagined’ series.

Last year, colleagues, academics and activists came together over 10 sessions to consider ‘the big ideas’ needed to recover from the devastating effects of the COVID pandemic.

Now, as we contemplate perhaps the most significant public sector reform in a decade, ‘OWR – Social Care’ will examine the Independent Review of Adult Social Care, led by Derek Feeley.

The Feeley recommendations cover key issues such as human rights, commissioning, social care funding, unpaid care and ensuring that people who need or use assistance are at the very heart of improvement.

Each session in OWR will explore different themes underpinning the review and will bring in the voices and priorities of people who use social care, unpaid carers, public services, the third sector and anyone who has an interest in social care.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Strathclyde University for a number of planned events.  The first on 24/6/21 will look at the National Care Service recommendation.
