Our learning and development opportunities reflect the needs of teams and individuals across Scotland’s voluntary sector. Work-based qualifications, such as SVQs and PDAs, recognise the skills, experience and practice required to perform a role at the nationally recognised standard. We also provide opportunities that help strengthen and equip the sector’s workforce.
Qualifications and Training to Suit Your Needs
Over the past 20 years, GCVS has established itself as a highly regarded SQA accredited centre providing a range of certified qualifications. On top of that, we are continually listening to the needs of local employers and individuals to offer learning opportunities and support with career development.
Nurturing our sector’s workforce is vital to GCVS. Through our employability work in partnership with other providers, we help connect people with job and training opportunities to equip them with the skills and experience they need to enter and sustain employment successfully.

Qualifications
We provide a range of opportunities, including Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs). These work-based qualifications are available at various levels to suit your needs. We also offer options for those looking to broaden or enhance their skills, such as our popular Emerging Leaders programme. Browse our course list to learn more.
Training
As well as a wide range of qualifications, we also offer training and workshop options so there is something for everyone. Our training aims to upskill individuals and teams working in Scotland’s voluntary sector. Members receive discounts on any of our training courses, so please log in to your account to ensure you see the discounts applied.
Digital Skills
We know it’s important that everyone has access to digital technologies and opportunities in a safe, equal, and meaningful way. Having the tools and the skills to use them can be transformative. To support this, we take part in a number of initiatives, including the provision of digital skills courses. Read about opportunities on our projects page.
Funding Support for Workplace Qualifications
Several of our SVQ awards are eligible for funding through a Part-Time Fee Grant (PTFG), available from the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). Find out more in our Funding Guide >>
