Planning and Management
Preparing for change and the future
Organisations often need help planning for their future sustainability, regardless of size or age. This might include income generation, business planning, risk analysis, impact measurement, organisational development, or crisis management. We can offer resources, training and advice at all levels.
If immediate support is needed for groups in crisis, we recommend that Board or Committee members use our Crisis and Next Steps template to help them review their position and get in touch.

Free Support for Glasgow Organisations
We offer limited free advice and training for eligible third/voluntary sector organisations in Glasgow.
Training
We deliver training throughout the year on a range of topics, including sessions on business planning and measuring your impact. These will be free to eligible groups in Glasgow through our funded support. See what’s coming up and book on our training page.
1-1 Advice
For advice on planning, management or crisis support, we recommend emailing us to connect you with the most appropriate staff member. We can then help you access support and highlight relevant resources and training. Please complete our short enquiry form.
Resources
We host a range of resources for groups and organisations, including useful links to our partners for relevant help. Developing organisations should use our assessment tool below as a great place to start. Or please click below to explore more helpful resources.
Please email sectordev@gcvs.org.uk to discuss the help available, including more bespoke, in-depth support.
Developing Organisations Tool
Our Developing Organisations Tool is designed to help you, and us, identify the strengths of your organisation and areas for development. Completed using our two-part form, this is a useful tool when considering an application to the city’s People Make Glasgow Communities programme. It can be completed as a self-assessment by somebody within the organisation who knows it well, or by a third party asking the questions and recording the answers.

The forms can be completed and submitted online, in two parts. There are 44 questions in total but many are tick boxes. It is not possible to save once you start so we recommend using the document templates below to prepare your answers.
Alternatively, the forms can be completed offline using the following Word Documents and sent to us by email at sectordev@gcvs.org.uk. If you need any assistance, please contact us.
