Raza Sadiq Wins Herald Society Unsung Hero Award
8th November 2016
GCVS Board Member Raza Sadiq took home the Unsung Hero Award (supported by evh) at The Herald Society Awards 2016, held on Wednesday the 2nd of November.
The award recognises Raza’s work with Active Life Club, an organisation he was crucial in founding, to empower young people in Glasgow through sport. Active Life Club runs many initiatives from after-school programmes, to developing young people as leaders and it makes a real difference to the lives of those involved.
Other GCVS Members also shone at the awards:
- Contact the Elderly won the Older People’s Project of the Year Award
- Glasgow Disability Alliance and ENABLE Scotland received nominations for Campaigners of the Year
- Phyllis Craig from Clydeside Action on Asbestos and Jacqui Taylor from Lifelink received nominations for the Herald Society Worker of the Year, supported by Social Work Scotland.
We would like to wish all organisations involved a huge congratulations on their wins and nominations!
