The People & Safety Services Conference – Employment Law Workshop

Preparations are well underway for the GCVS People & Safety Services Conference this September and we’re excited to introduce you to another of our Workshop hosts. We asked expert Paul McMahon to tell us more about himself and the workshop he is hosting.

Paul McMahon, Employment Law Specialist

Paul is a solicitor specialising in Employment Law with more than 20 years’ experience of advising and representing clients throughout the UK.

He is the Director and Founder of McMahon Employment Law, a specialist Employment Law practice. Paul advises clients on the full spectrum of workplace issues including discrimination, restructures, industrial relations, contractual disputes and TUPE and provides representation in employment litigation.

He has been recognised by the UK-wide independent legal directories, The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, in the field of employment law. He is also the Vice Chair of Enable Scotland, Scotland’s largest charity for people who have learning disabilities and a trustee of Abbeyfield Societies In Scotland, a charity for older people providing housing.

Workplace Investigations Workshop

Paul will be joining the People & Safety Services 2-day event to update delegates on recent employment law practices. He said:

“This workshop will concentrate on how to carry out investigations as part of disciplinary and grievance processes to meet legal requirements and promote a positive working environment.

As well as looking at best practice, the session will also highlight some common pitfalls that arise (and how to avoid them!) and aims to give delegates the tools and confidence to tackle workplace investigations in their own organisations.”
