Being able to talk about your work clearly and effectively is an essential fundraising skill, particularly for attracting unrestricted and sustainable core funding. In this session, our Funding Adviser, June Burgess will show you how developing engaging, strong messages can help people connect with your cause and compel them into action.
Drawing on fundraising best practice, we will explore effective fundraising communication techniques that can help you engage new audiences and strengthen relationships with existing supporters. Through real-life case studies and examples, we will uncover the information and qualities that individuals, grant-makers, and sponsors often look for when deciding whether to support your organisation. Including, how to effectively communicate your vision and mission, demonstrate your impact and articulate your strategic plans as well as practical tips on how to make a confident and compelling “fundraising ask”.

This short course is for anyone with responsible for fundraising or income generation within their organisation at any level of experience including Trustees, committee members, staff and other key volunteers. Building on the introductory themes from the morning session, our full day course offers practical support to develop effective fundraising messages tailored for your organisation. The extended format allows for more in-depth discussion, practical exercises, and enhanced peer learning and knowledge sharing. including communication strategies that encourage long-term engagement from existing supporters and the opportunity for voluntary peer review of your current external communications providing constructive feedback and fresh perspectives.
