Our World Reimagined

Our World Rem

Our World Reimagined: big ideas for a better future (OWR), is a new series of online conversations being launched this autumn by Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS).

It will feature leaders and key thinkers from across the UK. Many operate on a global platform and all bring innovative visions that can help people build a better world post COVID-19.

OWR will capture a range of ideas covering community wealth building, collaborative leadership, the wellbeing economy, asset based community development, the enabling state, gender equal economy, system design, the future of social care and more.

Sessions will delve into each idea as leaders engage in conversation with broadcaster and journalist, Pennie Taylor. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions, with a third sector representative providing their perspective on what the idea means to them on the ground.

“Our World Reimagined will delve into big ideas with people who are behind some of the most exciting visions about reshaping society, improving lives and building back better post COVID-19,” said Ian Bruce, Chief Executive, GCVS.

Leaders contributing in the coming months to OWR: big ideas for a better future include Neil McInroy, Centre for Local Economic Strategies, Dr Katherine Trebeck, DFSI Advocacy and Influencing Lead, Wellbeing Economy Alliance; Cormac Russell, Managing Director, Nurture Development Ltd; Dr Cat Macaulay, Chief Design Officer, Scottish Government; Sarah Davidson, Chief Executive, The Carnegie UK Trust; Dr Angela O’Hagan, Reader in Equalities and Public Policy at Department of Social Sciences, Glasgow School for Business and Society; and Janet Whitley, Collective Leadership Lead, Scottish Government.  Other contributors will be announced over time.

As one of the largest councils for the voluntary sector in the UK, GCVS will be targeting colleagues across Glasgow’s third sector, as well as opening the conversations up to a wider audience of Scottish stakeholders, particularly through recordings of the live sessions for circulation following each Zoom session.
