Our World Reimagined Social Care – Unpaid Carers and Covid Trauma
10th August 2021
Following the recent “Our World Reimagined” session on Social Care and Trauma, key speaker Fiona Collie (Carers Scotland) laid out learning from her work and concerns about COVID and the additional pressures the pandemic has placed on the now 1 million unpaid carers in Scotland. You can watch Fiona’s input to this session here.
In this blog, Fiona outlines her own anxieties as an unpaid carer, and lays out the trauma forced upon carers and their families, building on extensive research carried out by Carers Scotland and Carers UK during the pandemic.
