Rights for Life: Supporting Recovery and Ending Discrimination

The
Scottish Recovery Network, See
Me
and Voices
Of eXperience
are delighted to announce that registration is now
open for Rights for Life: Supporting Recovery and Ending Discrimination.

Rights for Life is a landmark national conference being held in Glasgow
over two days on 2-3 June 2015, with a simultaneous online programme for those
who can’t attend in person. It is free to take part, and anyone interested
in human rights and mental health recovery can register their interest.

Rights for Life will be a solutions-focused, engaging and positive event
for people to come together around mental health recovery, human rights and
non-discrimination. Increasing awareness and understanding about rights and
recovery – and promoting rights-based and recovery approaches – is a
shared concern for all three organisers.

Throughout the conference we expect to address a number of key issues,
including:

  • Mental health, recovery and
    human rights
  • Stigma and discrimination
  • The right to an adequate
standard of living, welfare and poverty
  • Education and employment
  • Rights and recovery in health
    and social care
  • The right to participation
    and freedom of decision-making

Participatory
techniques will be used to harness the information, ideas and discussions
taking place to help develop a future vision for realising rights and recovery
in Scotland.

For those who can’t attend in person, a simultaneous online programme will
coincide with the event taking place in Glasgow.
