Title: A survey exploring nature connection and virtual reality with young people (aged 18-30) with eco-anxiety.
If you have been feeling negative emotions when you think about the current climate crisis (sometimes known as eco-anxiety), then you are not alone! In the UK, 62% of 16 to 34 year olds are concerned about the impact climate change might have on their community (The National Lottery Community Fund, 2023). Research suggests
that a connection to nature can help people who experience eco-anxiety yet ways to connect with nature are not always clear or accessible (i.e. physical limitations, safety concerns, confidence, time constraints). Therefore, this survey will be used to identify the preferred nature connection strategies that you would want to learn.
The preferred strategy (or strategies) will then be used to guide the development of a virtual reality experience that explores nature connection for young people with
eco-anxiety.
The survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes, and is designed so that you do not need to have knowledge about nature connection or virtual reality to take part – just answer the questions in relation to your opinion and experiences.
