Part-Time Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – HSTAR Scotland SCIO

HSTAR Scotland SCIO is seeking an exceptional and values-driven leader to join our charity as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Location: Viewfield Chambers, Viewfield Place, Stirling, FK8 1NQ, Scotland
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Hours: 28 hours per week
Contract: Fixed-term, initially funded for a minimum of 9 months, with the possibility of extension subject to funding availability
Salary: £30,400 per annum (28 hours per week) (£38,000 full-time equivalent)
At HSTAR Scotland, we provide trauma-informed support to women affected by trauma and abuse. Rooted in lived experience, we are committed to creating a welcoming, empowering and inclusive healing environment across Scotland, particularly within the Forth Valley.
As CEO, you will provide strategic leadership and organisational oversight, ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability, safeguarding compliance and effective stakeholder engagement. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, Service Manager and Financial Consultant, you will help shape the charity’s future growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic leadership and organisational development
• Governance, OSCR compliance and GDPR oversight
• Safeguarding leadership and quality assurance
• Financial oversight, budgeting and funding strategy
• Board reporting and risk management
• Partnership development and external representation
• Relationship management with funders and stakeholders
Essential Requirements:
• Senior leadership experience within the charity or non-profit sector
• Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Trustees
• Strong financial oversight and budget management skills
• Risk management and governance experience
• Ability to lead across operational and financial functions
• Commitment to trauma-informed and ethical practice
Desirable:
• Experience securing grant funding and managing funder relationships
• Knowledge of mental health, trauma or violence against women services
• Experience leading organisational change
