About The Wee Retreat CIC
The Wee Retreat is a not-for-profit, Community Interest Company. In essence, we are
a meditation & well-being centre offering a wide range of wellbeing courses & retreats
to increase personal awareness & a sense of peace.
Our social mission is to create a culture where self-care is as normal/ordinary as
brushing your teeth. We believe that if everyone looks after themselves properly, they
will be happier within themselves and the world will be a happier place.
We aim to achieve this by:
• Making wee retreats as accessible as possible
• Partnering with other organisations who work with vulnerable members of our
society to support them in supporting their communities well-being
• Educating people in the importance of self-care
• Reducing stigma/barriers to self-care
The Wee Retreat CIC have been supporting a wide variety of well-being practitioners
deliver classes and workshops at our centre since we opened and we would like to
support them even more with a new online membership service just for them.
This new service, Nurture & Grow, has been developed in response to the pandemic
which has very much affected wellbeing practitioners livelihoods. We see a need for
this service well beyond this though and hope that this becomes a main strand of our
delivery of service.
This service will provide space for well-being practitioners to connect and collaborate
on one level and grow their business on another.
Wellbeing Practitioner Programme Manager Role Description

About You

We are looking for someone who has great people skills and who ideally has a mix of
excellent customer service skills and technical wizardry to combine nurturing our
members personally as well as organising the web and administrative side of this
programme.
Ideally you will also have an understanding, and hopefully experience of setting up
and leading new projects.
You will share The Wee Retreats values and mission of inclusion and well-being for
all. With a self-care practice at the core of your own life, you’ll be enthusiastic about
raising awareness of The Wee Retreat and what this service can offer.
You will be able to form relationships quickly and work with openness and integrity.
And above all you’ll be passionate about wellbeing and helping people to nurture and
grow personally and professionally.
As well as good people and facilitation skills, you will be able to help members draw
out learning from events, feel safe, seen and confident to share their hopes and
dreams and ask for what they need to help them create the business and impact they
want to make, with wellbeing at the core.
Job description & person specification
Reports to: Vicky – founder & director
Salary: £1200 p/m; pension contributions in 4th month of contract if eligible
Hours: Part time- 20 hour per week; will include office (mainly) and evening (some)
hours; to be agreed.
Contract: 6 months; fixed term July – Dec 2021, with the possibility to extend.
Flexibility: This is a new service that will evolve as we gauge feedback and adapt to
member needs. As such there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be
willing to adapt their working hours to suit the needs of the service.
Location: This role is mainly home based but will require occasional meetings at The
Wee Retreat premises in Glasgow.
Wellbeing Practitioner Programme Manager Role Description

Job Description:

• Meet and induct new members into service to ensure they optimise their
membership.
• Facilitating and promoting social media groups/channels related to the service.
• Manage the admin and IT of the service including inputting member and partner
information into our CRM and keeping updated and managing the service
content on the online platform we will use for delivery.
• Planning and arranging workshops and inviting members to attend, promoting
to them via email and social media.
• Facilitating online sessions including Nurture peer to peer networking and
support sessions.
• Networking to build relationships that will raise awareness of The Wee Retreat
and this service.
• Taking responsibility to ensure objectives of engagement and retention of
members to the service are met.
• Acting as a spokesperson for the service as and when required.
• Working closely with other team members in The Wee Retreat to ensure high
quality monitoring and evaluation of the service in order that there is a high level
of customer satisfaction and issues flagged and resolved promptly.
Overall, the role will require you to contribute to the development of the service,
support the organisation and delivery and carry out tasks that are within the scope,
spirit and purpose of the job.
Person Specification:
Experience – essential
• A proven track record of designing and delivering effective learning experiences
• Experience of facilitating and working with groups
• Your own wellbeing self-care practice
Experience – desirable
• Experience of setting up and developing or managing a project/service
• Working with organisation/business with social purpose

Knowledge – essential

• Understanding of different styles of learning in order to gift our members the
experience of being seen, heard and valued.
• Understanding of the issues experienced by wellbeing practitioners and of the
needs of individuals seeking to develop wellbeing practices.
• An understanding of processes for ensuring and monitoring quality of service
delivery and content.
Knowledge – desirable
• Understanding and awareness of issues affecting the wellbeing sector
• Relevant training or qualifications in coaching, facilitation or business support
Skills
• An excellent ability to facilitate groups and individuals to ensure members
learning and development.
• An ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people
including individual members and other stakeholders in The Wee Retreat
network.
• An aptitude for programme design and innovation
• Strong organisational ability and self-motivation to work without close
supervision.
• Ability to assess conflicting priorities, take appropriate action and manage
difficult behaviour/circumstances.
• Computer/IT proficiency with an ability to quickly learn new systems.
Attributes
• A commitment to peer lead learning and an interest and belief in the capacity
of the individual to create change and that their effectiveness and happiness
can be increased through appropriate support and development.
• Enthusiasm and ability to learn quickly with an interest around different
approaches to wellbeing.
