Maslow’s Community Seeking New Chair

Chair of the Board of Trustees – Volunteer Opportunity

Maslow’s Community is seeking a new Chair of the Board of Trustees to help lead our organisation into its next chapter.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a growing community charity dedicated to reducing poverty, strengthening community connections, and improving wellbeing across Glasgow. Working alongside our Board of Trustees and senior staff team, the Chair will provide strategic leadership, support good governance, and help shape the future direction of the organisation.

Maslow’s Community exists to support local people, asylum seekers and refugees who are experiencing poverty and isolation in Govan, Glasgow. We create a safe, inclusive space where people can access essentials for free, develop skills and build strong social networks. Our goal is to help people move from crisis to stability, and from isolation to belonging.

We are looking for someone with leadership experience, a commitment to community development and social justice, and the ability to inspire collaboration and positive change. Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential.

Time Commitment: Approximately 4-6 hours per month, including Board meetings and occasional additional commitments.

Location: Glasgow (with some meetings available online).
