A Project Manager Position has arisen for a Disability Afterschool Holiday Club which helps with the day to day lives of a group of young people with additional support needs. The Club provides afterschool activities for secondary –school aged young people with complex special needs.

To work with the Development Officer to deliver a programme of activities for young people with complex additional needs. Report to the Board of Directors.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• To source and apply for funding
• Personnel Management including staff appraisal and development.
• Financial Management
• Develop and implement appropriate policies and practice guidelines
• Keep appropriate up to date records of areas within your responsibility.
• Oversee the service being provided to ensure quality and service
• Give report at monthly director’s meeting.
• Work with Development Officer to oversee the day to day running of the project office
• Interview new staff.
• Monitoring and Evaluation
• Liaise with external agencies including voluntary sector organisations, local authorities, business contacts, trustees and other stakeholders and clients.
• Administrative tasks such as applying for grants, managing budgets, gathering data, preparing reports and any other clerical activities needed to meet the charity’s needs.
• Engaging and supporting staff
• Risk assessing venues working within specific guidelines eg health and safety, child protection etc

Personal Specification.
• Leadership and managerial skills
• Good knowledge of the voluntary Sector
• Organisational, research, and reporting skills
• Excellent communication skills both writing and verbally.

Organisation profile:

The DASH Club delivers after school and holiday program for young people with disability (11-18 years old). All our clients have a learning disability including autism combined with physical and / or visual impairment. Many of our clients also use wheel chair, are unable to speak and usually suffer from a combination of disability issues named above. Additionally, many come from a disadvantaged background combining other disabled child in family, coming from single parent background and / or living in areas of multiple deprivation.
We make sure that those young people get opportunity to socialise in afterschool activities where they improve their mental and physical health through sport, art, games, social outings, trips, residential in age relevant safe environment.
Our organization has been operating since 1999 and started as a spontaneous response to obvious gap in informal education for disabled children in Glasgow. We have a strong board mostly sustaining from carers of current or former clients. This expertise is further transparent in our staff where 85% of our staff has been with us over 2 years. This is important since our clients adapt hard to constant change of workers. All our staff is fully trained and our care inspectorate report awarded us top mark in care. All our staff is PVG checked and this will also be a case for you.
