Confidence Counts Week six
Posted: 20th September 2026
Last week we spoke about motivation and goal setting for confidence, but what does confidence really mean to you? It is amazing how often we say to ourselves I need to get more confident, but what really does that mean to us personally? This week I offer some ideas to reflect on that. The clearer we are on what confidence means to us, the more able we may be to set goals which help us to achieve that.
The Confidence Dude is a fun way to reflect on what confidence means to you. https://www.snowdropargyll.co.uk/resources/confidence-dude This is a resource you can use on a regular basis. Why? Because sometimes our confidence levels change in response to what is happening in our lives at that time. A daily check-in can help you monitor what is impacting on your self-confidence. Used along with the Jigsaw Lid https://www.snowdropargyll.co.uk/resources/confidence-dude Both the dude and lid are on the same link, The Confidence Dude can help to boost your self-belief, so you can go on to achieve your confidence goals. Take time to reflect on these questions if that has meaning for you. As you know COPE is winding down so the Snowdrop Argyll site is one place you will still be able to access our materials when we are gone, there will be others and also feel free to download onto your own site if you want. I mention this in case people wonder why its not our site. We still have a small site but its focus is on the Glaswegian Way to wellbeing.
Invitation to reflect if this has meaning for you. Please complete the following sentences
I think confidence is…
My gut tells me my confidence level today is…
My confidence may be low due to…
Confidence to me, feels like…
I could boost my confidence by…
Now this may sound obvious but, sometimes we want something and we aren’t sure why. Take time to really think about what you want the self-confidence to accomplish. You could capture and preserve those thoughts. How? Perhaps start a journal or use postcards or pictures that motivate you.
Invitation to reflect
With increased self-confidence I would…
Journaling is a good way to reflect and also consider the steps we have taken, what we have learned, what we plan to do next. You can find tips for journaling here https://www.snowdropargyll.co.uk/resources/ideas-for-journaling
Sometimes we need to learn something to become more confidence, we will look at that next time along with not being afraid to not get it right first time, we learn by doing and when we are learning it can take time and practice. Till then, be kind to yourself and each other as together we can get through the strange times we continue to find ourselves in.
