Confidence Counts Self Belief Matters

I mentioned covering the Confidence workbook and plan to share some posts here over the next few weeks. You can also download the resource here https://www.snowdropargyll.co.uk/resources/be-your-own-confidence-architect As ever, these wee posts are not a replacement for professional advice. They are for self-reflection and self-care and may also be of value to share with others.

Confidence is so important in so many areas of our life and lack of confidence and self-belief can offer us even more challenges at times when we have challenges enough.

An architect is a professional who plans, designs, and oversees the construction of buildings. Being our own Self Confidence Architect enables us to plan, design and oversee the construction of a new more confident you. The ideas shared over the next few weeks will offer some ideas on to do this, if this has meaning for you. You can dip into the posts in a way that best meets your needs. You do not need to read them all instead explore those which you would find most helpful for your plans.

Before starting, ask yourself, ‘Why am I doing this’. This may seem an obvious question, but how often do we take time to consider our motivation for doing something? There is no right or wrong answer. This is your story, your life, your decisions. Take a moment to reflect on whether increasing your confidence or self-belief has meaning for you.

Points for reflection

My motivation to increase my confidence and self-belief is…

What I hope to achieve by becoming more confident is…..

It can be helpful to track how you are doing. This can help you stay motivated and remind you of the steps you have taken. This is the link to the confidence dude https://www.snowdropargyll.co.uk/resources/confidence-dude . On a scale of 1-10 you can measure how confident you are feeling today. I have also attached a jpeg image.

The aim of the confidence dude is not only to score your confidence at any given point, but also to invite you to reflect on what confidence means to you.

Points for reflection

I think confidence is………

Confidence to me feels like………

My gut tells me my confidence level today is……..

My confidence may be low due to………

I could boost my confidence by…..

Our confidence can go up and down depending on what is happening.
