A month of ideas for managing stress
Posted: 1st April 2026
This link takes you to some ideas to manage stress https://www.copescotland.com/resources/a-month-of-ideas-for-managing-stress. Set up as a PowerPoint presentation you can use yourself, with your teams, or as part of an informal session with the people and communities you serve. With everything that is happening thinking about managing stress well…….. that can be another stressor! Hopefully not though and at least one wee idea shared here helps, even a little bit
Introduction to the slides
Learn to understand stress as it impacts on you. It may not be one thing; it may be many small things when put together become overwhelming. Keeping a journal may be a way to capture what is happening. Once we understand the source of stress and our response to it, we can begin to explore ways to reduce it or avoid it where possible.
Stress can take a real toll on our health, from impacting on our sleeping, eating habits, relationships with others and even our immune system. Recognising why it matters that we manage stress can help us be more motivated to bring the changes into our life which can help.
Not that all stress is bad, some of it acts as a motivator. It’s when it goes on and on and we never seem to feel any respite, that it moves from being stressed to distress. A challenge can be that when we live with stress for so long, we may no longer even be aware that we are experiencing stress, this is why it matters we become aware of it as even when we do not recognise it is there, it is having an impact.
There are many stress tests that you can take to help monitor your stress levels. Personally, I find the battery dude helpful, the link is below, however, find something that works for you. Make sure and use reputable sites. Whatever you do, look after you please, as you do matter
