People Management Projects for MSC Students

This opportunity is now closed

MSc Students at Strathclyde Business School are seeking organisations to collaborate with on their People Management dissertations.

Work & Organisational Psychology Postgraduate students can help your organisation find a solution to a people management issue you are experiencing or help you prepare for a change on the horizon. In return for access to data, students may carry out free research for you and provide a full report.

To take part, organisations are asked to provide a mentor/supervisor as primary point of contact for support and guidance. They will arrange a basic introduction to the organisation and assist with access to relevant information and contacts.

What Are The Project Topics?

  1. Leadership, parenthood and gender: What are the role conflicts and enrichment factors that support leadership at work as a result of parenthood, and how do these differ for men and women?
  2. Leaders’ personality and workplace behaviour: Leaders’ personality and the impact on employee and leader behaviour
  3. Hybrid and remote working: How are hybrid and remote working patterns influencing employee motivation and performance?
  4. Young people, disability and employment: Investigation into the transition to employment for young disabled people
  5. Exploring the trait of Sensory Processing Sensitivity: Sensory Processing Sensitivity’s positive impact in the workplace, employee mental well-being and self-efficacy
  6. To what extent does culture matter in organisational change? An exploration of kindness in managing resistance to change

Between April-June, students plan their fieldwork and complete their data collection. Access to data can be provided in many ways during this time, such as allowing the student to visit your organisation, interview or survey staff, or access data virtually. Final dissertations are then submitted in August.
