Mini Budget 2020 – When to Watch

Chancellor Rishi Sunak will stand up tomorrow to deliver what’s being dubbed an emergency “Mini-Budget” as the economy reels from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In true budget style, there are leaks aplenty, giving us a hint about what he might announce, including a strong focus on jobs; expanding the reach of Jobcentre Plus through massive recruitment and additional investment in measures to improve home energy efficiency.
A reduction in VAT – with talk of a temporary VAT cut for the hospitality sector – has been suggested whilst there is speculation that National Insurance will be cut.
