Launch Event | Children, Young People & Families Citywide Forum

On Wednesday 1 February 2017 the new Children, Young People & Families Citywide Forum was launched as part of our Children’s Services Plan Event.

The Forum was developed by our Everyone’s Children Project in response to feedback from events & networking session throughout 2016 which identified participation in Children’s Services Planning as a priority for the third sector.

The Forum is designed to enhance third sector participation & influence in key strategic areas related to children, families & young people – it doesn’t replace the local Forum network that currently exists, but is intended to provide a more co-ordinated response across the city.

Governed by a Steering Group made up of members from a wide spectrum of third sector organisations and co-ordinated & supported by the GCVS Everyone’s Children Team, the Forum will:

  • Co-ordinate representatives from the third sector across a number of Strategic Committees
  • Ensure two-way communication & feedback to services across the city
  • Share knowledge, experience & good practice
  • Gather and co-ordinate views, experiences and opinions
  • Ensure that the voice of the sector and the people we work with are heard

Catch up with Forum member Eddie Kane of Barnardos, talking about why the Forum is an important addition that will help the third sector contribute to planning & decision making at citywide level:

The Forum is open to all third sector organisations working with Children, Young People & Families, if you would like to join and receive updates & information please email Lisa Wright:
