Health in a Changing City – Session Recording and Notes

On 20 April, GCVS hosted a joint session with the Glasgow Centre for Population Health to discuss the recently published “Health in a Changing City” report.

During the session, Bruce Whyte, Katharine Timpson and Mairi Young explored different sections of the report looking at inequality linked to homelessness, mental health, gender, ethnicity and disability.   They also talked about poverty, the impact of austerity and widening inequality demonstrated through reductions in life expectancy.  The presentation laid out policy ideas for governments and public bodies to consider.

In closing the event, Dr. Sam Smith of C Change Scotland talked about responses to inequality being grounded in the language and vision of human rights.
