Health and health inequalities in Glasgow – Recovery Event with GCPH

GCVS is delighted to be working with the Glasgow Centre for Population Health to deliver this next event in our ‘Recovery’ series.

In order to recover after the last two years of the pandemic, it’s vital that we understand the scale of the inequalities facing Glasgow.  The pandemic has baked in many existing challenges – poverty, poor physical and mental health, isolation.   We already know that life expectancy has been reducing.   We know that people with disabilities already faced deprivation, loneliness and poor employment outcomes.  Women in particular are hardest hit during recessions and other crises – COVID has been no different.  Lady stands facing a body of water with back to camera

We cannot look forward without looking back and learning.  This important session does just that.  We’ll hear from GCPH about its recent work ‘Health in a Changing City – Glasgow 2021’ which lays out the current level of inequalities and begins to examine the broader health and wellbeing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Join us on 20th April, 2pm – 3.30 pm to hear more and take part in the conversation.  You can register here and the agenda for the event is here:
