Glasgow Third Sector Representation Framework: Strengthening Voices

We’re excited to introduce the Glasgow Third Sector Representation Framework, a major step forward in how the third sector is represented in decision-making spaces across the city. The new Framework is designed to ensure that the voices of voluntary organisations, charities, community groups and social enterprises are heard, valued, and influential in shaping services and policies.

Why Representation Matters for Glasgow

Effective representation means decisions about public services, funding, and community priorities are informed by the sector’s expertise and lived experience. This framework ensures that Glasgow’s third sector is valued, connected, and influential in shaping policies that impact local communities.

What’s Changing?

  • Glasgow Third Sector Forum (GTSF): Open to all third sector organisations in Glasgow. The Forum will coordinate representation on city-wide partnerships and specialist issues.
  • Policy Committee: A newly elected body within the Forum to set policy priorities, agree consultation responses, and oversee governance.
  • Local and Thematic Networks: Will continue to represent the bespoke interests of different parts of the sector.
  • Online Information Hub: Supporting collaboration, sharing best practice, and providing accessible information about partnerships and representatives.

The Benefits

The Glasgow Third Sector Representation Framework offers:

  • Inclusive decision-making
  • Transparent governance
  • Stronger collaboration between third sector organisations and public bodies
