Glasgow Life Digital Volunteer Development Project

Over the last 18 months, volunteers across Glasgow have worked tirelessly to support many people in our Communities by delivering food supplies, sharing information and being a friendly face or voice helping to combat loneliness or isolation for those shielding.

As trusted intermediaries, volunteers now have a vital role to play in ensuring that our most vulnerable households have the skills, knowledge and support to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the digital world.

In partnership with Glasgow Life’s Digital Volunteer Development project (DVD), all GCVS member organisations are being offered free digital skills training for their volunteers which will provide:

  • Training needs analysis
  • Essential digital skills
  • Intermediate digital skills
  • Development of Volunteers to become Digital Champions
  • Access to accredited learning opportunities
  • Ongoing support from the DVD team

The project will also offer GCVS members assistance and support to ensure all participating organisations have robust volunteer policies, agreements and clear volunteer supervision structures in place.

GCVS member organisations will retain responsibility for recruitment, support and supervision, including Volunteer agreements, Volunteer Insurance and any necessary PVG/Disclosure checks.
