Freedom of Information extension – Scottish Government consults

The Scottish Government is consulting on potentially extending coverage of Freedom of Information legislation to include “companies providing services on behalf of the public sector”. This could include those delivering services under contract with Scottish public authorities.  The consultation document points out that such considerations may apply to charities.

GCVS is considering how it responds to this and is linking with others to take this forward. We would be interested to hear your thoughts, views and concerns. Please contact Lynn Williams – lynn.williams@gcvs.org.uk.

More details here – https://consult.gov.scot/constitution-and-cabinet/freedom-of-information-extension-of-coverage/

The consultation closes on 22 November 2019.
