Coming soon – new community lottery for Glasgow

The last few months have been difficult for everyone.  Many local voluntary organisations have had to adapt what they do and have lost access to income.  To help, GCVS are introducing a new community lottery for Glasgow.

A community lottery is a way for participating organisations to easily generate regular income. It’s like running your own lottery but without the associated setup and ongoing costs.

For your organisation:

  • It is free for GCVS members to take part – no upfront or ongoing costs
  • You get professionally designed digital marketing materials and your own sales webpage
  • You get a monthly payment direct into your bank account
  • You don’t need to do any of the administration associated with a lottery

For members of the public playing the lottery:

  • They choose their chosen beneficiary organisation
  • They play online for the chance to win £25,000
  • They will pay £1 per ticket, 50p of which goes directly to your organisation. The rest is used for prizes and administration costs.

We are holding an online introduction event on Tuesday 8 September at 3pm.  This is your opportunity to find out more about the Community Lottery.  You can also check out a very similar lottery run in Reading here

The lottery will only be open to GCVS members.  Non-members are welcome to attend the introduction event but must apply for membership to be a part of the lottery.

Because this benefit is being introduced midway through the membership year, the GCVS Board have agreed a 50% reduction in new members who join after the 8 September.
