New Bank of England Sector Working Group
21st January 2025
The Bank of England is looking to the voluntary sector in Glasgow to help shape its work and decisions.
The state of the economy affects jobs, the money in our pockets, and many aspects of our day-to-day lives. Our sector is crucial in influencing better policies and seeking change because we see every day the ongoing effects of the cost of living crisis and the economic headwinds we have all faced in recent years.
With this in mind, GCVS has been working with the Bank of England over the last few years. Many of our members will have attended previous roundtable sessions with senior Bank staff.
The Bank has significant economic influence, and the experiences you’ve shared at previous sessions have fed directly into the places where the Bank makes important decisions.
Be Part of The Next Chapter
Building on this, we’re now working with the Bank’s Agent for Scotland, Will Dowson, who would like to meet a small group of GCVS members. By coming together three times a year, the group will help gather intelligence and on-the-ground experience from the voluntary sector, which will inform the structures that shape our economy. This is an important and exciting opportunity for GCVS members.
We’re looking for about 10 GCVS member organisations to get involved – one representative per organisation.
Please contact Lynn Williams, our Partnerships and Membership Coordinator, by email on lynn.williams@gcvs.org.uk to participate. We hope to hold the first discussion with Will in February.
