Adult Social Care – A Carer’s Perspective for Our World Reimagined
3rd August 2021
As part of the GCVS “Our World Reimagined – Social Care series”, an unpaid carer in Glasgow has approached us to share her family’s experience of care services, after attending a recent OWR event.
She outlines the challenges faced by her family in trying to secure the right support for her Mum both before and during the pandemic lockdowns – and now after, trying to secure a self directed support package.
The carer also talks about what needs to change to make social care better – building on the Feeley review recommendations she also lays out a powerful message; unless we acknowledge fully the things that aren’t working in social care, we can’t truly move on to create something better.
