Greater Glasgow Mental Health Network

The Mental Health Network for Greater Glasgow helps improve rights, services and treatment of people with mental health difficulties, and those who support them.

The Network supports individuals with a lived experience of mental health problems, as well as their carers. They encourage and empower people to share their views and experiences of using services. They also work in partnership with service providers and other third-sector organisations to drive improvements.

Providing support as needs change

Like many third-sector groups in Glasgow, the Mental Health Network came to us for support with Payroll as their organisation grew. They’ve now been receiving administrative and HR support for over ten years, allowing them to focus on running their Network. Plus, we’ve been able to guide them through changes to their structure and governance as needs have evolved over the years.

Anna Barclay, Business Support Manager, said:
“During this time, we have always received excellent service from all the staff at GCVS. In particular, the HR Service has assisted us with a couple of very challenging staff issues in the past, and more recently, the assistance and advice we received from Phil, Sector Development Officer, with our transition to a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) was invaluable to us as a small Charity!”

We delivered a special group session for the Network run by our Organisational Development Manager. This in-house training was focused on ‘Governance and Compliance’. It provided a fantastic opportunity to learn as a team, ask questions and concentrate on the needs of their particular group.

“Being Members of GCVS also keeps us up to date with all the changes taking place in the Voluntary Sector.”
