Funding Advice and Training for Charities and Community Groups
Every organisation needs to consider its income and financial sustainability. You might do that with grant funding, fundraising or charging for your services. Our support, training, and one-to-one advice will help your organisation develop the skills it needs to succeed.

Free Support for Glasgow Organisations
We offer limited free advice and training for eligible third/voluntary sector organisations in Glasgow.
Training
Practical fundraising and funding training for voluntary organisations, including grant applications, fundraising strategy, budgeting, income diversification and sustainable funding. We promote good fundraising practices, illustrated with real examples, while building in networking opportunities for mutual support.
1-1 Advice
Funding surgeries allow you to discuss income generation and focus on sustainable funding models for your organisation. An appointment with our Funding Advice Officer takes up to 45 mins. Afterwards, you will receive written information, action points and links to further information. Log in to book online or email us for more details.

Speak to our Funding Advisor
Thanks to our funders, our funding advice surgeries are free for Glasgow City Organisations signed up to our funded support. Appointments may also be available for organisations outside Glasgow when capacity allows but may come at a charge. Please email us at sectordev@gcvs.org.uk, and we can discuss the help available, including more bespoke, in-depth support.
Funding Application Reviews and Feedback
We also offer an application review service. Get feedback on draft funding applications before submission. Our application review service acts as a critical friend, helping strengthen your proposal and improve clarity and impact. Search for Grant Funding
Search for funding opportunities, through an easy-to-use database which hosts grants of all sizes. The GCVS Open4Community platform is available to help support locally-based, small community, voluntary or charitable organisations with their fundraising.
